Promotional Products like Branded Pens May Have More Impact Than You Think

You may not realize it, but that ink pen you write with or the coffee mug that gives you a boost of energy is effective in more ways than one. In addition to serving as a writing instrument or something that holds your cup of Joe, branded office supplies serve an informational purpose, and RP & Associates took note of this. We specialize in and sell personalized supplies like pens, keychains and mugs, and released an infographic highlighting the connection companies have to their customers and potential clients. This infographic is the result of various consumer surveys, with the figures revealing that branded materials are just as effective as the traditional billboard or radio commercial, if not more so. The infographic states that branded materials like hats or shirts make up nearly a third of the promotional advertising market. Products like pens or keychains also serve as a purpose; according to one recent survey, more than 80 percent say they keep promotional items they find useful, while 38% find the products to be a constant reminder of a company’s services. Many do not think about it, but that branded ink pen or coffee mug goes a long way in spreading word of mouth. According to research, office products are used an average of 50 times a month, while writing instruments are used an average of 64 times. In addition, social media habits play a role, especially when it comes to free stuff! Of those polled, nearly 42 percent said they “Like” a company on Facebook or follow that company on Twitter, in order to receive a free product. Furthermore, 28 percent said they would make a positive post after receiving the product. The future appears bright for the promotional products industry, which is expected to increase by 0.4 percent in 2013. With the advancements in technology and social media, this number could very well increase throughout the decade.
